This past week was good. Classes are winding down and I have been trying to start my final papers. I successfully completed one, which is one step closer to being done with school! I have enjoyed my classes and learned a lot but lets face it - school is not the reason why I decided to study abroad, and I will be happy when the work is over.
On Friday I went to Film Society and saw a good Aussie film called Noise. It was one of the only Aussie movies I have seen and I really enjoyed it. Afterward I went out to dinner with my friends Nate and Peter. That night we went to my favorite gelato place- 'Dolce & Gelato' and I got my favorite gelato flavor- peanut butter! Not quite as good as Presti's in Little Italy in
Cleveland, but it comes in close second.On Saturday my friend Nate and I went to Darling Harbor to check out the Harbor Lights show. Darling Harbor turned 21 this year so this month they are having all sorts of 'birthday' celebrations. Every Friday and Saturday there is a fireworks show. There were 4 jetskies which had fireworks coming out of the back as well as a platform in the middle of the harbor that also shot off fireworks. It was a really cool show. I love fireworks and it was fun to watch. It reminded me of many childhood memories and made me excited for the 4th of July at home! After the show we went to Pancakes on The Rocks. I guess
eating pancakes with ice cream really doesn't get old! I should pitch the idea in the US...I have a busy week up ahead. This Tuesday marks the beginning of 'Vivid Sydney' which is basically a light festival. On Tuesday night the sails of the Opera House will all be lit up with art designs, which will definitely be a cool site to see.
As it turns out, the last cooking class was not canceled, so I will be able to go to the last one this Thursday. I am really excited since I missed the last one and will report back on how it goes.
The weeks are winding down- just 5 left! As I was walked through Darling Harbor and downtown last night I started to feel sad about leaving. There is just something wonderful about this city that I will miss very much.
